Nurse Manager – Family Birthing Center
Columbia Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced and dedicated nursing leader to oversee the daily operations of our Family Birth Center. Care is provided using an LDRP model and the department sees 20-25 births per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- The nursing manager is responsible for the administration and supervision of the Family Birth Center. This includes the overall assessment, plans, implementation, direction, and evaluation of all services provided within the department.
- Duties include budgeting, capital expenditure, staffing, performance improvement, patient rounds, planning services, staff training and supervision, performance evaluations with improvement plans as necessary.
- This leader also partners closely with the CMH Women's Center.
- This individual will occasionally have some bedside nursing requirement when there are unfilled sick calls or other vacancies.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to:
- Demonstrated strong leadership ability
- Effective communication skills with nursing team and providers
- Proven experience in developing teamwork with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated skill in improving departmental culture
- Experience and demonstrated skill in labor and delivery and post-partum nursing care
- Understands process improvement in a health care setting
- Possesses the technical skills to act quickly, knowledgeably, and appropriately in any situation that may occur.
- Works with patients, customers, and the community with flexibility and adaptability.
- Knowledge of AWHONN standards, practices, and recommendations.
Requirements
License/Certification:
- RN currently licensed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing in good standing (or able to obtain prior to employment)
- Current BLS and NRP
- ACLS and RNC-OB preferred
Education and/or Experience:
- BSN required; MSN or Master's in a related field (MBA, MPH, MHA) preferred
- Minimum 5 years acute care hospital experience with minimum 2 years progressive leadership/supervisory experience
