Provide Basic Healthcare To Students, Grades Kindergarten - 12th
Description
Portage Community School District is hiring a school nurse to work the school year plus additional summer school hours that may serve students early childhood through 12th grade population. This is a 7 hour per day position and will start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, carrying out the district’s school nursing and health services programs: providing emergency nursing services during the school day and direct nursing management of health/illness needs of individuals during the school day within PCSD policies and procedures, compliance with Wisconsin immunization laws, and assisting individuals in obtaining appropriate health care services.
Requirements
Current unrestricted Wisconsin license as a registered nurse under Wis. Stat. Ch. 441.
Baccalaureate degree in nursing, or an Associate degree in nursing with an approved public/community health theory course.
Familiarity with immunizations for the school-aged child.
Ability to work independently and utilize resources by phone.
Current Healthcare Provider/Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR with AED certification.
Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
Ability to follow the nursing process with integrity.
